Bieger, Durante, Tan selected to compete in 2006 DTB-Pokal World Cup

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Oct. 26, 2006 – 2006 all-around world silver-medalist Jana Bieger of Coconut Creek, Fla., and 2006 U.S. World Championships Team members David Durante of Garfield, N.J., and Kevin Tan of Fremont, Calif., will represent the United States in the 2006 DTB-Pokal, a World Cup event held in Stuttgart, Germany, Oct. 27-29.

In addition to the all-around, Bieger also claimed silver medals in the team and floor exercise at the recent World Championships in Aarhus, Denmark. Bieger was third in the all-around at the Visa Championships, won the vault at the World Cup in Cottbus, Germany, and won the vault and floor titles at the Pacific Alliance Championships earlier this year. Tan, who was captain of the men’s team in Aarhus, is the reigning U.S. still rings champion. Durante, who was an alternate on the World Team, was third in the all-around at the Tyson American Cup and tied for third on parallel bars at the Pacific Alliance Championships in 2006.

The event’s schedule has qualification rounds on Oct. 27, with the finals on Oct. 28-29.
